Do you love the outdoors and enjoy meeting new people? Forbes Shire Council is seeking a motivated person or couple to take on a weekend caretaker role at the beautiful Apex Riverside Tourist Park, located on the banks of the Lachlan River.
What’s on offer:
- Oversee the park every Saturday and Sunday (8am–7pm)
- Be the friendly face welcoming guests, handling bookings, and ensuring the park is clean and inviting
- Accommodation included on-site for weekends
- A chance to live and work in a riverside setting with fishing, nature, and community all around
What we’re looking for:
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle cleaning, basic maintenance, and gardening
- Comfortable using a computer (training provided)
- Enthusiastic about promoting Forbes as a destination
- Must hold an ABN, Public Liability Insurance ($20M), and Working With Children Check

Forbes Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced developers to deliver exciting new accommodation developments within the Forbes Visitor Information Centre precinct.
Two prime development sites with Newell Highway frontage are available:
- Site 1 – Motel/Conference Centre: 2.31ha (approx.), southern end of Mary Street
- Site 3 – Caravan/Holiday Park: 3.28ha (approx.), northern end of Mary Street

Proposed Amendment to 2024/25 Schedule of Fees and Charges: New Fee |
In accordance with s.610F of the Local Government Act 1993 Council places on public exhibition the following proposed amendment to its 2024/25 Schedule of Fees and Charges:
New Fee: Indoor Pool Fees - Government/NDIS Rate: adult daily entry rate for each participant who is not already a pool member.

Council is proposing to amend the Forbes Local Environmental Plan 2013 (LEP) by changing the zoning, minimum lot size and height of buildings restriction on the Community Garden, Reymond Street, Forbes (formally identified as Lot 1618 DP750158). The Planning Proposal is on public exhibition from 4 December 2024 to 24 January 2025. Any submissions must be made in writing, addressed to the General Manager and detailed clearly why you either support or oppose the proposal. Your submission must include your full name, address and phone number.
To make your submission you can either:
1. Email forbes@forbes.nsw.gov.au;
