Agri-Tourism DCP Chapter  

Agri-Tourism DCP Chapter 

Forbes Shire Council notifies its intention to adopt a new chapter of the Development Control Plan (DCP) relating Agri-tourism within Forbes, which includes farm stay accommodation, farm gate premises, farm experience premises and roadside stalls. Agritourism has an important role in creating a more direct connection between the primary producer and the end consumer.

Adopting this legislation, will result in landowners of primary production land to diversify their income and encourage tourism within the Forbes Local Government Area (LGA). Simplifying the planning rules will help landowners to add value to their existing agricultural operations and encourages the next generation to farm the land. These additional income opportunities will help make farms more resilient to the economic impacts of natural disasters and other unexpected events.

The proposal will be on public exhibition for a period of 28 days between 28 February 2023 to 28 March 2023.

Council wishes to advise of the 28-day public exhibition period for the proposed reclassification of the following park:

In accordance with the Local Government Act, Forbes Shire Council invites the community to attend a community meeting at the Forbes Town Hall on 5pm on Tuesday 11 April 2023.

The Public exhibition period commenced on 10 February 2023 and concludes on 10 March 2023.
