In accordance with cl. 204(3) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, Council places on public exhibition a proposed Voluntary Planning Agreement between Forbes Shire Council and Edify Energy for a $500,000 contribution from Edify Energy to Council towards projects identified in the Forbes Energy Action Plan. All submissions must be received in writing by Council, addressed to the General Manager, by 5:00pm on 25 July 2025. Forbes Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced developers to deliver exciting new accommodation developments within the Forbes Visitor Information Centre precinct.
Two prime development sites with Newell Highway frontage are available:
- Site 1 – Motel/Conference Centre: 2.31ha (approx.), southern end of Mary Street
- Site 3 – Caravan/Holiday Park: 3.28ha (approx.), northern end of Mary Street
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of accommodation in Forbes, meeting growing demand from both business and leisure travellers. We welcome proposals that bring innovative ideas and proven expertise to enhance our region’s accommodation and hospitality offering.

In accordance with s.610F of the Local Government Act 1993 Council places on public exhibition the following proposed amendment to its 2024/25 Schedule of Fees and Charges:
New Fee: Indoor Pool Fees - Government/NDIS Rate: adult daily entry rate for each participant who is not already a pool member.
