Resheeting Roads

Forbes Shire Council conducts a yearly road resurfacing program during the months of September through to March. The reseals prolong the longevity of the road on average 12-15 years.

When the program starts it is always a balancing act to minimise disruptions to residents while the process takes place. A week before the work begins Council will notify you with a postcard in your letterbox stating the date and time the work will be taking place. Residents are asked to ensure their vehicles are removed from the roadway during those hours.

If you have any questions on the road resurfacing process, please call Council on 02 6850 2300.

How does this impact you?

Before we reseal, there are a few things we have to do:

  • Trim overhanging trees to allow truck access
  • Repair surface (potholes)

We need your help

To ensure the process goes smoothly we require your help with the following:

  • Please ensure your vehicle is off the street on the day of the schedules work
  • Please be patient as the work takes only a few hours, then you can use your new road.

What happens if it rains?

Reseal work is weather dependent and can be delayed by unforeseen circumstances. Council will advise if this happens.
