Forbes Shire Council has announced Belgravia Leisure as the new managers for the Forbes Pool.
Mayor Phyllis Miller OAM has thanked Lifeguarding Services Australia for the past five years as the contractors for the Forbes Olympic pool.
“Council would like to thank LSA for bringing the pool up to a professional standard and their years of service to the Forbes community.
“We now welcome Belgravia Leisure to the pool and are looking forward to beginning a safe swimming season from the October long weekend until March 31,” Councillor Miller said.
“Forbes has a strong history with swimming and the pool is a well-regarded asset. We are lucky to have three swimming clubs in town – the Forbes Diggers, the Forbes Amateur Swimming Club and Forbes Fins as well as a lot of recreational swimmers, so it is important to have a ell run facility,” she added.
Belgravia Leisure is the largest leisure management group in Australia and New Zealand (they also currently manage Parkes Pool).
Belgravia has launched a campaign to hire lifeguards and swim teachers locally. Staff who have worked at the pool previously are encouraged to get in touch through firstname.lastname@example.org. Lifeguard training course will be held for potential new staff to gain the necessary accreditation in Parkes on Saturday, September 17.
