With regional roads full of travellers at the moment, RV Dump Points are becoming the latest hot spots to locate. RV Dump Points are sites especially designed for Recreational Vehicles (RV’s) to dispose of their waste, including grey and black water, and sewage in the most environmentally friendly method of emptying waste from a caravan. Forbes has multiple sites available including Caravan Parks within the Shire, Forbes Showground and currently on the edge of Lions Park. The Lions Park dump point is going to be relocated to Wheogo Park in the coming weeks and Forbes Shire Council is advising the community that roadworks will be in place.
“It is so great to see the travelling public choosing to stop in our wonderful town for short stays,” Says Forbes Shire Council Mayor, Phyllis Miller OAM. “We believe in providing these much needed facilities for travellers in the hope they do stop and stay a few days and explore our amazing town.
“The Junction St Carpark will be refurbished in the coming months to improve safety in the area. The lake is a high priority for activation under the Lake Forbes Activation Plan and a huge asset to our town.”
The Lions Park James Street sewer dump point will relocate to Wheogo Park short stay parking area the week commencing 19 October 2020. Junction Street will be part closed during the construction phase for up to two days.
“We hope to keep the disruption to a minimum during what is a very busy park these days,” continues Mayor Miller. “Council has listened to the community who voiced concerns about pedestrian and vehicle safety at the site and we are rectifying the issue.”
