Forbes Shire Council/Forbes Arts Society Young Artist Scholarship

The Forbes Shire Council/Forbes Arts Society Young Artist Scholarship is offered to support innovative young artists aged between 15 and 21 years to undertake self-directed professional development in their chosen field. In 2019 the Forbes Heritage Young Artist Scholarship will have a total value of $1000. This may form the offering of two (2) scholarships valued at $500 each or one (1) scholarship valued at $1000, decided at the discretion of the scholarship committee. The scholarship is open to young artists living in the Forbes Shire and is open to all art forms including visual arts, curatorial arts, dance, design, digital arts, Aboriginal arts, history, writing, music, theatre and screen.

Jemalong Irrigation Scholarship

Jemalong Irrigation is passionate about helping youth from across the Forbes and Lachlan Shires to reach their full potential, supporting education and skills development, supporting rural communities and supporting young people who are passionate and committed to forging careers that will contribute to the future success of rural and regional NSW.

Applications are now being invited for the 2020 Jemalong Irrigation Rural Scholarship Program with scholarships of between $2500- $5000 available.

Applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the Forbes or Lachlan Shires
  • Be under 25 years of age
  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Demonstrate a desire to contribute to the future of regional NSW
  • Demonstrate how a scholarship would assist them in achieving their education or training goal

There is no limit on the type of course that qualifies. Applicants can be completing an apprenticeship, studying at TAFE or university, either on campus or by distance. Applicants must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have been accepted into the course before funds can be paid. It is a requirement of funding to supply an acquittal at the completion of the course.
