Miller and Falconer to lead Forbes Shire Council

Shire Council last night held its annual election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor
where Cr Phyllis Miller OAM and Cr Graham Falconer were re elected to their second
term as Mayor and Deputy Mayor unopposed.
General
Manager, Carissa Bywater acting as returning officer declared Cr Miller the Mayor
at the special meeting held at 5.30pm. "I look forward to continuing to attract
businesses and getting more services for our community. We will continue to
improve our economic development strategies and build on the positive relationships
that we have established" said Mayor Miller.
Following
that announcement Cr Falconer was then declared Deputy Mayor prior to Council
reviewing its Committee structure and Councillor representation for each
committee for the period September 2009 to September 2010.
Cr Falconer said "I am very
pleased to be re elected and am committed to whatever work is necessary for the
benefit of Forbes. The drought continues to be one of our biggest issues and I
am passionate about it being high on the agenda of the Mid Lachlan Alliance".
