New Visitor Guide & DVD Launched

A new brochure and a promotional DVD have been launched to encourage more visitors to holiday or hold an event in Forbes.

Forbes Shire Council recently launched a new Visitor Guide and Tourism DVD designed to showcase Forbes as a visitor destination as well as a unique conference, meeting and event venue. 

Mayor of Forbes Cr Phyllis Miller OAM said “our new materials showcase the distinctive attractions of Forbes in order to entice more visitors; two thirds of whom already come from interstate and a further quarter from throughout Regional NSW.” 

The content of both the 32-page Forbes Visitor Guide and 5-minute Tourism DVD includes attractions, dining, accommodation, shopping, recreation, RV friendly facilities and event and conference facilities and amenities. 

Forbes Shire Council’s Marketing Manager Misty Gardner said “these materials will be distributed to visitor information centres, consumer and trade shows, online via Council’s website and also directly to anyone considering visiting or holding an event, meeting or conference in the region.” 

“The Visitor Guide and Tourism DVD will be read and watched by people throughout Australia and will be an important tool in the destination decision-making process,” said Ms Gardner. 

The dynamic new materials have been designed to familiarize visitors with why Forbes is already such a popular stopping place for Newell Highway travellers and other regional and interstate visitors. 

“Forbes is one of the most attractive towns in the region, and we are celebrated for our many tourist distinctive attractions including our lake, parklands, heritage buildings, boutique shopping as well as our fascinating gold rush and bushranger past. 

We would like anyone planning upcoming travels in this region to pick up copies of our Visitor Guide and DVD and get a taste of the country hospitality, heritage, beautiful natural environment and things to see and do they’ll find in Forbes,” said Ms Gardner. 

Free copies of the visitor guide are available from businesses throughout Forbes and orders for guides and DVDs can also be placed with Forbes Shire Council.
