Forbes to go on show at Country Week ExpoForbes Shire Council will be exhibiting at the Country Week Expo to be held at Rosehill Racecourse Event Centre in Sydney from 8 - 10 August 2008. Around 10,000 people attend this three day Expo each year, which aims to encourage both businesses and individuals to consider relocating to regional and country areas. General Manager Carissa Bywater said “the Country Week Expo provides an opportunity to showcase the economic and lifestyle benefits we are afforded here in Forbes, and to entice those thinking about moving to consider becoming a part of the community of Forbes.” Council is currently preparing for the event, with Manager Commercial Enterprises Kristy Hartwig and Manager Tourism & Promotions Misty Gardner working together to plan Council’s exhibit. Council has invested in a 3m x 3m booth, which will be resourced with quality displays, comprehensive information packs, and manned by Council staff and Councillors. Miss Gardner said “we are currently putting together tailored resources to ensure we can generate maximum leads at Country Week and provide Expo visitors with the most enticing package to move to Forbes.” Council is working with local employment agencies, major employers and real estate agencies to ensure that a complete and current listing of the opportunities to work and live in Forbes is promoted at Country Week. Families visiting Country Week will be illustrated the benefits of living in Forbes from great schools, the availability of quality health care, the natural environment and friendly community through to distinctive local attractions and events. “As a new resident in Forbes myself, I am looking forward to attending Country Week, and letting others know about the terrific benefits being a part of this community provides,” Miss Gardner said. In addition to attracting new residents to Forbes, Council is also working to ensure that opportunities to attract new businesses and in particular, new industries are fully explored. “Through our own information and testimonials from new and established Forbes’ employers, we are going to demonstrate that Forbes’ offers a lot of benefits to businesses considering a move, including lower land and labour costs, great location and freight availability, as well as the support of the community and Council,” Miss Gardner said. Council has implemented strategies to ensure that all enquiries at Country Week are captured and will be followed up. “We have invested in scanning software for our Country Week booth, which will enable us to capture the contact details of all those registered visitors we speak to.” Miss Gardner said. “We are also providing those visitors who we qualify as really being interested in a move, with a package of great offers and incentives to bring their family for a visit to Forbes.” For any enquiries about Country Week please contact Kristy Hartwig or Misty Gardner at Forbes Shire Council on 6850 1300.
