Lake Forbes BeautificationForbes Shire Council over the next few months will be continuing to improve the area in and around Lake Forbes. Unfortunately the desilting project has to be modified because of recent rain, improvements such as reclaiming the bank and place loc-a-blocks into place on the northern side adjacent to Grinsted Oval has taken place The process is as follows:
It is envisaged that Council gain estimates in finishing off the wall in front of Rotary Park, as well as the western side from the rugby club to Camp Street bridge. The appropriate government agencies are currently being approached for permission. At the moment Council is undertaking further bank rehabilitation work where by Councils excavator will be endeavouring to remove excess build up and rebuild towards the bank. Council was given 12 months to complete the initial project of desilting and establishing a wall to avoid further erosion.
