Do pensioners receive a concession in relation to their rates?
Yes, if the pensioner is eligible. To be eligible they must:
- be a holder of a Pensioner Concession Card from either the Department of Social Security or Veterans Affairs;
- must be solely or jointly responsible for the rates;
- must occupy the dwelling as their sole or principle place of living.
If a pensioner is jointly responsible, the concession availble will be dependent on the percentage of ownership held. Contact Council's Rates section on 6850 1300 for futher information or to obtain an application form.
