Do I have to register my cat?
If you own a cat born PRIOR to 1 July 1999 you DO NOT have to register the cat for life. It is a requirment however, that your cat is identified. You may choose a collar with ID tags or a microchip.
However, if you sell or give away your cat after 1 July 1999 it must be microchipped and registered for life.
Any cats born after 1 July 1998 need to be microchipped and registered for life.
