Animal problemsLast modified: July 29, 2009 - 8:54 AM
Council's Environmental Services & Planning Department can assist with animal problems, such as stray animals and barking dogs. Stray animalsCouncil's impounding service may collect and hold stray animals. The collection service operates Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm or arrangements can be made by contacting Councils Ranger. Animals are held for the following statutory periods before being destroyed:
To report stray animals contact Council on (02) 6850 2344. Barking dogsDogs bark for a number of reasons, but regardless of the cause the end result is a nuisance to neighbours and has a serious effect on the quality of life for those affected. The following procedures are provided as guidelines for alleviating the problems associated with a dog in the neighbourhood. If you have a barking dog nuisance, Council suggests that you first approach the owner of the dog, as he or she may not be aware that a nuisance exists. In most cases owners want to do the right thing and will co-operate. If this is unsuccessful, please contact the Environmental Services & Planning Department on (02) 6850 2344. Council Staff will investigate the problem and take appropriate action. Contact details
