Noxious Weeds & Roadside Vegetation
Last modified: January 4, 2007 - 3:28 PM
Forbes Shire Council is very conscious and diligent regarding the control of noxious weeds throughout the Shire. We encourage residents to inspect their properties on a regular basis and report any suspected noxious weeds to Council's Weeds Officers, details below.
The Environmental Services Department of Forbes Shire Council incorporates a Noxious Weeds Inspector, employed to combat the emergence of roadside vegetation and noxious weeds within the Forbes Shire. Council recognises the importance of a cooperative approach between themselves and landowners in attempting to successfully combating the emergence and spread of noxious pests. The Noxious Weeds Act 1993 requires every occupier of land to take responsibilty and effective measures to control noxious weeds and plants. Occupiers who fail to recognise their responsibility for control of noxious weeds and plants are liable to prosocution and penalty under the Act.
