Following the closure of the Forbes Olympic Swimming Pool on Friday
January 3, 2014, Forbes Shire Council wishes to notify the community
that the deadline for completion of maintenance works has been extended
to Monday January 6.
With qualified technicians currently on site, significant preventative
maintenance is being carried out on the pumping, filtering and chemical
dosing systems and this will take longer than initially expected.
Mayor Ron Penny says “While undergoing routine maintenance, we have
decided to give every facet of pool operations a thorough technical
review to ensure the remainder of the pool season is an enjoyable and
problem free one,”
“This includes flushing the toddler and baby pools, sanitising all paved areas and repairing vandalised fencing.”
“We apologise for extending the closure of the pool however in doing so, we hope to avoid any issues in the future,” he says.
Due to the inconvenience caused to the general public, Forbes Shire
Council is offering free admission to all patrons from Monday January 6
to Wednesday January 8.
