Forbes Shire Council is encouraging residents to take part in Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday, March 6.
Volunteers can register from 8.30am at Victoria Park, with the clean-up to start at 9am.
The sites included in the clean-up will be Bedgerabong Road, Parkes Road, Sam Street, Cowra Road, along the river near the iron bridge, the CBD and around Lake Forbes.
When the clean-up is finished at midday, all volunteers are invited to enjoy a free barbecue lunch at Apex Park.
Mayor Phyllis Miller OAM said she encouraged all residents to take part in this great initiative.
“Last year 30 bags of rubbish and seven bags of recycling were collected during the clean-up, so let’s see if we can beat that total this year,” Mayor Miller said.
“This is a great way to keep our town tidy and looking the best it can.”
All volunteers will be provided with gloves, rubbish bags, sunscreen and water.
