Forbes Youth and Community Centre

The Forbes Shire Council is committed to responding to the needs of young people. To meet and address these needs a full time youth and community officer has been employed at the Youth and Community Centre. The Youth and Community Officer is responsible for the planning and implementation of activities for young people in the Forbes Shire.

The Youth and Community Officer also provides information and assistance to young people for a range of issues.

Some of the activities for young people which the Youth and Community Officer coordinates include

• The Youth Advisory Committee

• Youth Week activities

• Disco's

• Youth Forums & consultation

• School holiday programs

Young people in the Forbes Shire are encouraged to actively participate in developing and conducting their own projects, event and activities with assistance of the Youth and Community Officer through the Youth Advisory Committee.

A Youth Advisory Committee has been established to give young people in Forbes a voice to issues they feel are important and participate in developing activities to meet their needs.
