Social Plan
The Forbes Shire Council Social plan was adopted in June 2004. This plan is an important document to the community of Forbes as it provides demographic analyses, identifies priority social issues and the actions necessary to address them. The plan addresses 8 key areas including children, young people, men, women, older people, people with disabilities, people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal people. The actions listed in the social plan serve to provide the social planning directions for the community over the next 18months. The Social Plan is currently under review and updates regarding this process and how the community can be involved will be available on this page as information becomes available. The initial Social Plan was produced for Forbes Shire Council in 1999, so as to comply with Local Government (General) Amendment (Community and Social Plan) Regulations 1998. The Strategic Plan will set goals for the Shire and will include strategies to ensure that Forbes is adesirable place to live. These strategies will include:- 1. Enhance the provisions on adequate medical services to the residents of Forbes. 2. Support the provisions of facilities and services for the elderly. 3. Support the development of youth facilities. 4. Enhance the provision of adequate emergency services and policing for the community. 5. Investigate the possibilites of Achieving Practical Partnerships in the Integration of Community Care Services in Forbes. more .. |
